
Darryl Crumb | Executive Chef
Born in Canada, and a hockey player at heart, Darryl´s love for cooking took him to Le Cordon Bleu and to immerse in his passion for food.
He later travelled to Paris, and took on various roles such as Garde Manager, Chef de Partie, and Pastry Chef in various kitchens as he polished and perfected his skills.
His career in Paris, took him later to Le Goupil and Le Marée Denfert in Sous Chef and Executive Chef positions.
As sportsman of the year by the order of Canada, Daryl´s interests go beyond cooking. He played professional hockey for the Long Beach Ice Dogs as a forward. His other interests include fishing, hunting, and skydiving.
He later brought his talent and passion to Vancouver, to continue his work as a Chef, at r.tl.

Alain Canuel | Operations Manager & Sommelier
Born & raised in Canada´s culturally-rich Quebec City, Alain has long been attracted to the fine art of food & wine, and has sought out new experiences throughout his life as he traveled throughout Europe, North & South America.
For Alain, a deeply rooted love-affair with wine developed organically as his career in the world of fine dining unfolded.
Alain gained his Sommelier diploma upon returning from a stint in Europe, and decided to make British Columbia his new home.
A quiet determination and energy saw him quickly advance his career at top-notch hotels & restaurants, quickly being promoted to the position as Wine Director at Vancouver’s Diva at the Met, and Sommelier for Araxi in Whistler.
With years of experience working with some of Western Canada´s top award-winning restaurants, Chefs & wine educators Alain brings the perfect balance of charisma & knowledge to r.tl, from coordinating a high-profile event, or expertly coaxing the cork from a bottle of vintage Champagne, though, often he is sabering bottles for guests by request.

Matt Martin | Mixologist
An award-winning mixologist and with passion for skillfully crafting worldclass cocktails, Matt was born in Long Beach California, and was introduced to first class food, wine, and life at Avenue 9 Bistro in the heart of San Francisco. Once recruited by a modeling agency, he moved to New York to begin a high profile career around the globe, and in 2003 he settled in Manhattan to peruse his love of the restaurant industry and took his place behind the bar at Indochine in the East Village, helping redesign Indochine´s renowned cocktail program, and later Dylan Prime in New York City and "James" in Brooklyn.
Matt credits Dale Degroff and Ryan Simpson as major influences on his career.
He was voted one of NYC´s top bartenders by Forbes.com and soon after made the move to Vancouver where he began to man the bar at r.tl.
